Cadely is built to help families track their baby's daily life — feeding, sleep, diapers, growth, and more — and share that information with the caregivers they trust. We take that responsibility seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We've written it in plain language on purpose.

Information We Collect

We collect only what's needed to make Cadely work well for your family. That includes:

  • Account information — your name and email address when you sign up or sign in
  • Baby tracking events — feeds (breast, bottle, formula), sleep sessions, diaper changes, pumping, and growth measurements you log
  • Baby profile details — name, date of birth, and any notes you choose to add
  • Photos and media — any photos you choose to add, such as a baby's profile photo or entries in your family's Memories journal. Adding photos is always optional.
  • Family content — notes, comments, and similar content your family adds, visible only to the caregivers you've invited
  • Photo details (metadata) — when you add a photo, Cadely may read its embedded details, such as the capture date, dimensions, and (if present) the location where it was taken, to organize it correctly and add optional context like the place or weather. Only details of photos you choose to add are read.
  • Caregiver information — names and contact details of people you invite to share access
  • Device information — basic device type and OS version, used to keep the app running smoothly

Cadely requests access to your camera or photo library only when you choose to add a photo — a baby's profile photo or a memory — and only for the photos you select. We do not browse, scan, or collect any other photos or media from your device. When you take a photo with the in-app camera, Cadely may also use your device's location (with your permission) to record where the moment happened.

We do not collect payment information directly. Any purchases are handled through Apple's App Store and subject to Apple's privacy policy.

How We Use Information

The information you provide is used to power the app — nothing else. Specifically:

  • To create and maintain your account
  • To store and sync your baby's tracking data across your devices
  • To show the photos and content you add, to you and the caregivers you've invited
  • To add optional context to your entries, such as the place or weather when a photo was taken
  • To enable caregiver collaboration and shared access
  • To send notifications you've chosen to enable
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve app stability

To provide optional context such as a place name or the weather, approximate coordinates from a photo (or from your device, for photos taken in the app) may be used for one-time lookups through trusted services — currently the device's built-in geocoding service (provided by Apple) and Open-Meteo, a weather data service. Only coordinates and a date are sent for these lookups — never your identity, your baby's name, or the photo itself.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your baby's information for advertising. Your family's data is yours.

Caregiver Sharing

Cadely lets you invite other caregivers — partners, grandparents, nannies, or anyone you choose — to view and log tracking events for your baby.

When you send an invitation, the recipient's name or contact detail is used solely to deliver that invite. Invited caregivers can only see the data for babies they've been granted access to — including any photo you've added for that baby. You remain in control and can revoke access at any time from within the app.

Notifications

If you enable push notifications, Cadely may send you reminders and alerts — for example, feeding reminders or updates from caregivers. You can manage or turn off notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.

We do not send marketing push notifications.

Analytics & Crash Reporting

We use lightweight analytics and crash reporting tools to understand how the app is used and to fix bugs quickly. This includes aggregate usage patterns (which features are used most) and crash logs when something goes wrong.

We currently use Google Firebase for usage analytics and Sentry for crash reporting. These tools never receive your name, email, or the content of your baby tracking entries. They do collect technical information — app version, device type and operating system, in-app events, and pseudonymous identifiers that distinguish one device or installation from another. This information is not tied to your identity and is never used for advertising or shared with advertisers, but because it includes a device-level identifier it is pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous. Crash reports do not retain your IP address.

Data Storage & Security

Cadely uses trusted third-party infrastructure providers, including Supabase and Expo, to securely store and synchronize app data across devices. All data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (TLS). We use access controls to ensure only authorized services and personnel can interact with production data.

Baby photos are stored privately and are not publicly accessible. The app retrieves them only through short-lived, expiring secure links available to you and the caregivers you've authorized.

While no system is perfectly immune to risk, we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Account Deletion

You can delete your Cadely account directly in the app. Go to Edit Profile and select the account deletion option. All associated data will be permanently removed from our systems.

If you need additional help, you can also reach us at support@getcadely.com.

Children's Privacy

Cadely is designed for use by parents and caregivers — adults who are tracking information about their babies. The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

The baby tracking data entered into Cadely is entered by an adult on behalf of their child, and is treated with the same care and protections as all other account data.

If you add a photo for your baby, it is provided by you as the adult account holder. It is stored privately, is visible only to caregivers you authorize, and can be added or changed only by the baby's account owner. You can remove a baby's photo at any time, and it is permanently deleted when you remove the baby or delete your account.

Changes to This Policy

If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we'll let you know through the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects when it was last updated.

Continuing to use Cadely after changes take effect means you're okay with the updated policy.
